Three veteran mortgage lending officers and new South Carolina-based vice president of mortgage production join Truliant

Truliant Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the addition of a mortgage team with a track record of success as part of its Upstate South Carolina expansion.

The new mortgage team is comprised of three veteran Upstate mortgage lending officers, and includes: Bill Looby, Art Wray, and Tim Lee. Additionally, Tim Strom, a mortgage lending leader in South Carolina, was named to the newly created role of vice president of mortgage production at Truliant for its full corporate footprint. He reports to Beth Eller, senior vice president of mortgage lending.

“The Upstate’s phenomenal growth continues to drive home ownership and our new mortgage team is committed to making the buying experience as seamless as possible,” said Truliant’s Eller. “Our team has deep expertise and we look forward to bringing a brighter banking option to homebuyers in the region.”

Truliant’s Upstate mortgage team will focus on creating an outstanding mortgage experience for Upstate homebuyers. They join a team of more than 50 employees in Truliant’s mortgage department.

As vice president of mortgage production, Strom will oversee mortgage production for the Truliant retail mortgage lending team. He specializes in team development, increasing production, and creating full-service options for the benefit of Truliant members. Strom will work out of Truliant’s Upstate Regional Office in Greenville, S.C.

“Tim is well-known for his passion for helping individuals and families achieve their dream of homeownership. We look forward to his contributions and the experience he brings to Truliant’s mortgage team as our program grows,” Eller said.

Strom has served on various committees of Mortgage Bankers of the Carolinas (MBAC) including its board of directors, and its Local Upstate S.C., Midlands S.C. and Coastal S.C. affiliates. He serves on the Finance Department Advisory board within the College of Business at Clemson University.

Truliant, which has been serving the Upstate since 1994, is adding branches and expanding services in the region. The credit union has an operations office in Greenville and three branches in the Upstate, including a new location that opened in April in Easley, with additional locations to come.

Truliant has a full array of mortgage loan products to serve the needs of homebuyers, including one-time close construction to perm loans, first-time buyers, government loan programs, Veterans Administration loans, jumbo loans, and others.

Additionally, Truliant is a leader in mortgage eClosings, where parties meet remotely to sign final home buying documents. In 2022, Truliant created United Members Title, a title insurance agency offering affordable title insurance coverage for home purchases and refinances.
