Proceeds from special charity event awarded to three local organizations by Greenville’s new Brazilian eatery.

On Wednesday, May 25, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, a Brazilian churrasco-style eatery that opened in the popular Magnolia Park shopping center in April, hosted a Charity Night Celebration in honor of three local organizations. Since the contest began on April 14, Make-A-Wish South Carolina, Pendleton Place and YMCA of Greenville have been campaigning and encouraging votes from the Upstate community.

The charity night celebration attracted a sellout crowd for dinner at the restaurant, and by the end of the evening, an outpouring of community support resulted in a total donation of $8,000.

YMCA of Greenville had the greatest support, winning 50 percent – or $4,000 – of the overall donation. Pendleton Place came in second, taking home 30 percent – or $2,400 – of the donation and Make-A-Wish South Carolina won the remaining 20 percent – or $1,600.

The YMCA of Greenville is a non-profit community service organization in Greenville, SC.
