Turner Padget elects John Kelchner and Ryan Judd to shareholder

Turner Padget Graham & Laney, P.A. announced that Columbia-based John Kelchner and Ryan Judd have been elected shareholders of the firm, effective Jan. 3, 2023. Kelchner and Judd are both members of the Business team.

Kelchner focuses his practice on creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, mortgage banking and finance as well as real estate issues. As an advocate for large mortgage servicers and smaller lenders, he aids his clients in asserting their claims and protecting their interests in state and federal court litigation. Kelchner’s work with financial institutions continues in his real estate practice where he works with creditors to resolve complex matters. A respected lawyer with a strong background in bankruptcy court, he is a member of the J. Bratton Davis Bankruptcy American Inn of Court and South Carolina Bankruptcy Lawyers Association.

Kelchner earned his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Judd dedicates his practice to transactional business matters, primarily focused on commercial real estate and healthcare. Bringing the perspective of more than a decade of experience in the corporate world, he prioritizes understanding a client’s vision and ensuring that critical details are addressed. Judd also counsels hospital groups, medical and dental practices, and healthcare companies on transactional matters and compliance related to HIPAA, GINA, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark, and telehealth.

Judd earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, a graduate degree from the University of Georgia, and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
