Turner Padget expands Executive Committee with addition of Kristen Nichols

Turner Padget is pleased to announce the addition of Shareholder Kristen N. Nichols to the firm’s Executive Committee. Nichols joins the Executive Committee, effective August 29, 2022, which includes Chief Executive Officer C. Pierce Campbell and Shareholders J. Kenneth Carter, Jr. and Mark B. Goddard. She was named as part of the effort to align operations with the firm’s strategic plan. In this role, Nichols will assist committee members in overseeing the firm’s strategic priorities and will serve in this position for a three-year term.

Nichols practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial law and litigation, foreclosure, real property litigation, HOA litigation, commercial real estate, debtor/creditor law, landlord/tenant law and creditors’ rights. Within her creditors’ rights practice, she regularly represents local and regional banks, lenders, investors and small businesses on matters involving loan resolution, asset recovery, contract modification and renegotiation, and bankruptcy.

Nichols chairs the firm’s Women’s Committee and is committed to working to enhance the status, influence and effectiveness of women lawyers in South Carolina, not only through her leadership and work at Turner Padget but also through her position on the board of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association where she currently serves as president. She also serves the firm as co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and as the client services and development leader for the Business Team. Additionally, Nichols is a Supreme Court of South Carolina Certified Mediator and is active with the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston’s Pro Bono volunteer program.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and her law degree from Michigan State University.
