Twenty-Five-Year Marketing Veteran to Lead Strategic Marketing Programs for Agency Clients

In this role, he will be responsiblefor assisting in acquiring new accounts for the Agency, leading keyaccount teams and developing marketing strategies for the Agency’sextensive roster of clients in the tourism and entertainmentcategories.
A marketing veteran with more than 25 years experience, DuRant’scareer highlights include leading the Hurricane Hugo Economic RecoveryTask Force, where he served as the media chairman in an effort toeducate the world that the Myrtle Beach area withstood Hurricane Hugo in1989. In addition, DuRant developed Golf the Florida Gulf, a marketingcooperative of four counties in the Florida panhandle designed toimplement alternative tourism sources to boost shoulder seasons andminimize dependency on spring break business. DuRant’s experience intelevision led him to manage the logistics and publicity for theproduction of three episodes of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition –two in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and one in New Orleans.
Prior to joining The Brandon Agency, DuRant served as president of TheDuRant Agency where he developed integrated sales and marketingsolutions for a variety of regional and national accounts includingWinchester Development/North Beach Plantation, Lock & KeyProductions, Hall Companies, Sterling Homes and Broadway at the Beach.Prior to that, he served as vice president of marketing for theentertainment division of WCI Management, a multifaceted entertainmentand real estate management company. DuRant also foundedDuRant-Ryann-DuRant, Ltd., a full-service marketing agency thatspecialized in tourism- and entertainment-related marketing.
DuRant received a bachelor of science degree in parks, recreation andtourism from Clemson University and a bachelor of arts degree injournalism from the University of South Carolina.
