“Media relations and content generation are growing areas of service for NP Strategy,” said Heather (Hoopes) Matthews, CEO of NP Strategy. “No one understands the media industry better than someone who has worked inside the walls of a newsroom. NPS+ now has six former journalists on our team.”

Award-winning journalist Kara Gormley Meador is a well-known and respected news reporter in both North Carolina and South Carolina. In North Carolina, Gormley Meador worked for WNCN in Raleigh. In South Carolina, Gormley Meador reported and anchored for WIS TV, a leading NBC affiliate in South Carolina. She is the recipient of both an Edward R. Murrow and an Emmy award. Gormley Meador will join NP Strategy as the Director of Media and Content Strategy.

“One of the greatest honors in my life is being entrusted to tell the stories of the people, nonprofits, and businesses that work for the betterment of our communities,” said Gormley Meador. “I’m still doing that; the only difference is with NP Strategy, I am supported by an experienced team of communications and media relations professionals from around the southeast.”

An accomplished swimmer, Gormley Meador was a scholarship athlete at a Division 1 school. Prior to joining NP Strategy, Gormley Meador ran her own successful public relations and marketing agency. She will work out of the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office.

Casey Watson most recently reported for WMBF (NBC) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Watson interviewed presidential candidates, reported live during hurricane coverage and investigated critical issues effecting South Carolinians.

“To be able to join such a diverse and experienced team is truly extraordinary,” Watson said. “I look forward to bringing my relationships and knowledge of today’s media landscape to NPS+ to help our clients succeed.”

A competitive barrel racer, Watson attended college on a rodeo scholarship. She will join NP Strategy as a Media Relations and Content Coordinator and work out of the firm’s Myrtle Beach, South Carolina office.
