Two Richland One high schools ranked among ‘Best High Schools’ by U.S. News & World Report

Two Richland One high schools have been named among the “Best High Schools” in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026-2027 ranking.
Dreher High School(opens in new tab) and A.C. Flora High School(opens in new tab) were ranked in the top 40% out of 17,945 public high schools nationwide.
U.S. News & World Report ranks the top schools based on college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance and graduation rate.
Dreher also ranked fourth in the Columbia metropolitan area and 17th in South Carolina.

Dreher High School has a proud past and an even brighter future, and together we will continue building on our blueprint of excellence,” said Dreher Principal Dr. Brandon Baskett.
A.C. Flora ranked sixth in the Columbia metropolitan area and 28th in South Carolina.
“We are proud to be recognized as a top school in the Midlands and South Carolina. This honor is due to the hard work of our students and the faculty of A.C. Flora. In addition, the support of our district, parents, and community allows A.C. Flora to be successful in our many endeavors,” said A.C. Flora Principal Susan Childs.
