Two Upstate non-profits get Engenius Grants

GREENVILLE, SC – Engenius has awarded two grants to local nonprofits through its annual competitive Engenius Grants program.
The 2012 recipients are Greenville Forward and Loaves & Fishes.
“Effective marketing is crucial to the success of nonprofits in today’s world,” said Chris Manley, managing partner. “Engenius is proud to support those nonprofits in our community making a huge difference in peoples’ lives.”
Engenius Grants include a fully developed website, professional logo design, web hosting, marketing consultation, and ongoing hosting and support. In addition to the grant winners, Engenius has named two runners-up: Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (GAIHN) and the Developmental Center for Exceptional Children, located in Anderson.
Each runner-up will receive donated seminar registration for upcoming web marketing seminars offered by Engenius. Loaves & Fishes meets the challenge of hunger by connecting willing donors of perishable food with local human services agencies that use food to feed the hungry.
This year they’ll rescue 1.2 million pounds of food that would have gone in the trash otherwise, providing 1.2 million meals to people in need. Greenville Forward enhances the quality of life for greater Greenville by engaging all citizens in continually updating, promoting, and facilitating a community vision for 2025 and beyond.
The grant will be used for Gardening for Good, a tangible response to the growing conversation on local food and healthy food access among Greenville County residents. The value of these grants is more than $9,000. Since January 2010, Engenius has supported Upstate nonprofits with more than $40,000 in sponsorship, in-kind, and monetary support. The Engenius Grants began in 2010 and awards annual grants of in-kind web design and marketing services to Upstate South Carolina charities.
