UCI Medical Affiliates Names Senior VP of Center Operations

COLUMBIA, SC – Mike Mayden has been hired as senior vice president of center operations for UCI Medical Affiliates, headquartered in Columbia. The company employs more than 1,000 people in South Carolina and provides nonmedical management services for Doctors Care, Progressive Physical Therapy and Doctors Wellness Center. In his new role, Mayden will be responsible for managing the organization’s 51 urgent care centers and will oversee all day-to-day center operations.
Mayden has 20 years of professional experience, having worked most recently as chief financial officer for Methodist McKinney Hospital in McKinney, Texas. Before that, he served for 12 years as vice president and CFO of the CareNow urgent care chain based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. At CareNow, some of his responsibilities included overseeing operational finance, occupational health and physical therapy marketing, managed care contract maintenance, information technology and strategic planning.
Mayden also worked in investment banking for several years before transitioning to the health care industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tulsa. David Boucher, president and chief operating officer of UCI Medical Affiliates, said Mayden’s extensive experience will make him a great asset to the organization.
