United Way of Greenville County’s Meghan Barp appointed to Greenville Technical College Area Commission
June 2, 2025Meghan Barp, president and CEO of the United Way of Greenville County, has been appointed by the Greenville County Legislative Delegation to a four-year term as a member of the Greenville Technical College Area Commission.
The commission serves as Greenville Technical College’s governing board, responsible for development and operation of the institution. Barp joins Chair Ray Lattimore, Vice Chair Jo Watson Hackl, Secretary S. Hunter Howard, Jr., and members Paul O. Batson, III, Thomas R. Britt, Jr., Dean Jones, Ray Martin, Dr. Burke Royster, Coleman Shouse, Keith R. Smith, and David Stafford in serving on the Greenville Technical College Area Commission.
“Meghan’s record as a mission-driven strategist, community builder, and advocate make her a perfect fit for the Greenville Technical College Area Commission,” said Chair Lattimore. “I know that the board and the college will benefit from her leadership.”
At United Way of Greenville County, Barp works across sectors to ensure that the 86,000 families in Greenville County struggling to make ends meet have a real path to opportunity and success. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Kearney and Oregon State University, she has been named to Greenville Business Magazine’s “50 Most Influential” list four times, honored as one of South Carolina’s “Top Women in Business,” a recipient of the Buck Mickel Leadership Award, and presented with the Visionary Leadership Award by the Community Foundation of Greenville. She currently serves on the boards of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the International Women’s Forum Carolinas, where she is president-elect.
