United Way of the Midlands hires Long Term Flood Recovery Manager

United Way of the Midlands welcomed Michael L. Hagins as its new Long Term Disaster Recovery Manager. In this newly created role, Hagins will coordinate United Way’s ongoing recovery efforts to aid individuals affected by last year’s devastating flooding.
Hagins will take the lead of United Way’s Midlands Flood Recovery Group (MFRG). The MFRG was formed in November 2015 to coordinate with federal, state, county, and city personnel, as well as nonprofit and volunteer organizations to provide assistance to the estimated 2,000 households in the Midlands that lack the personal resources to rebuild their homes after the disaster.
“United Way continues to make flood recovery a top priority as we help those affected remain financially stable and healthy,” said Mac Bennett, President and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “Bringing Michael Hagins on board creates yet another asset in the long-term recovery process, allowing United Way to more efficiently and effectively help those impacted by the October storm.”
Hagins brings to United Way years of experience in project management in industry and construction. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and is a certified Project Management Professional.
