United Way to recognize 2015 South Carolina Common Good Award recipients

COLUMBIA, SC – The United Way Association of South Carolina will recognize 6 state legislators for their commitment to the common good at a reception in Columbia tonight. Recipients of the 2015 South Carolina Common Good Awards are:

Senator Larry Martin

Senator William O’Dell

Senator Harvey Peeler

Senator Nikki Setzler

The Honorable B.R. Skelton

Senator Yom Young

The reception will take place at SOCO, the Columbia Cowork, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The South Carolina Common Good Awards were established in 2014 to honor public servants for their advancement of the common good in United Way’s focus areas of education, health, financial stability and volunteerism.

 

The United Way Association of South Carolina’s mission is to create long-lasting opportunities to advance the common good for all in the areas of education, financial stability, and health. It is the common voice of the 28 independent, locally-governed United Ways in South Carolina.
