University of South Carolina graduate student takes top honor in NACADA competition

COLUMBIA, SC – September 19, 2008 – Reed Curtis, president of the Graduate Student Association at the University of South Carolina, earned “Best in Region” honors for his presentation, “Economic Recession and Student Financial Instability: How Academic Advisors Can Help,” at the National Academic Advising Association’s Region 3 conference.

Pursuing a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs, Curtis earned the right to present at the national NACADA conference in Chicago in October 2. He also received a $500 award.
