Urban League of the Upstate and United Community Bank partner to support affordable housing initiatives

Urban League of the Upstate and United Community Bank are pleased to announce a $20,000 award to fund affordable housing initiatives. This gift represents a one-year partnership that will provide free housing programs to our community.
“We are extremely grateful to United Community Bank for working with us to create housing counseling opportunities,” said Jil Littlejohn, President/CEO of the Urban League of the Upstate. “When a family has access to safe, affordable housing, especially as homeowners, the family benefits. Children can focus on their education, economic stability is created, and the health of the family as a whole increases. We are honored to have United Community Bank see the value of having housing programs and counselors available.”
The funding will be used to create free homebuying seminars, provide financial and homebuying counseling, and provide foreclosure prevention counseling.
