Urban League of the Upstate awards $198,000 in scholarships at 2nd annual MLK Dreams in Action Scholarship Breakfast

Urban League of the Upstate, an affiliate of the National Urban League, announced that it awarded 11 scholarships totaling over $198,000 in to Upstate youth at its second annual MLK Dream Scholarship Breakfast. The event took place on Saturday, January 14,

2017 at 9:00 am at the Commerce Club located at 55 Beattie Place, Greenville, SC 29601. The event featured Special Guest Speaker Mr. Lee Gill, J.D., Chief Diversity Officer at Clemson University, and a special performance by Tevin Smith. Vicky James of 107.3 Jamz served as the host for the event.

This event paid homage to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and recognized the significant educational achievements of eight special Upstate youth.
