Vanessa Clark receives FM Rogers Leadership Award at Greenville Technical College

Vanessa Clark, a recent graduate of Greenville Technical College (GTC) who earned a certificate in Marketing in the Non-Profit Sector, was awarded the college’s FM Rogers Leadership Award for 2019. Clark graduated with a 3.53 GPA while running Anointed Hands Beauty Salon, a small business. Active as a volunteer, she founded a community outreach program called Project Love that provides free back-to-school haircuts for children in low income neighborhoods. In addition, she serves as a guardian ad litem child advocate and as a youth pastor at Kingdom Life Training Center while also volunteering with the Abbeville sheriff’s National Night Out domestic violence prevention program and the Abbeville Civic Center after school program.

This award was created to honor the exemplary leadership and commitment to helping others demonstrated by FM Rogers who served as dean of the college’s Business and Public Service Division from 1997 to 2009. To be eligible, students must complete a minimum of 30 hours in their program of study, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and make a difference in the community.
