VARO No. 319 Federal Credit Union Members Approve Merger with Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union

COLUMBIA, SC – Members of VARO No. 319 Federal Credit Union have approved a merger with Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union.

The VARO No. 319 Federal Credit Union Board of Directors approved a proposition to merge with Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union on February 27, 2014, which was then put to membership vote and approved at a special meeting on May 14th.

In considering a merger partner, the VARO Board of Directors found Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union to have ample strength, stability, management progressiveness, and services currently available to reach current and potential members.

“We welcome the VARO membership to the Carolina Collegiate family,” said Anne Shivers, CEO of Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union. “We are committed to maintaining high quality service for all members and extending all of our services to our newest members.

“Former VARO members will now have access to four Carolina Collegiate branches and more than 5,000 branch locations nationwide through our Co-op® Network partnerships, a 24/7 Call Center, enhanced online banking, mobile banking, StressFree BillPay services, eDeposit, mortgages, business services, consumer loans, and more,” Shivers added.

The merger will be completed with all accounts transferred and services available by June 18, 2014.

 

Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative open to staff, students, and faculty of the University of South Carolina and several other groups and universities. Founded in 1967 by employees of the University of South Carolina, today the credit union has over 15,000 members and assets of over $88 million.
