VentureSouth establishing PeeDee angel investor group

VentureSouth, one of the country’s largest angel investment networks, is once again expanding its footprint. The PeeDee region of South Carolina will become the 16th community with a VentureSouth angel group, bringing the resources of a venture capital firm to local investors.
Curtis Lee, a local angel investor and owner of several successful local businesses, will serve as the Market Director of VentureSouth PeeDee.
“Raising the VentureSouth banner in the PeeDee region of South Carolina is a significant step towards putting the communities throughout this area of South Carolina on the map as a place to start and grow companies. VentureSouth invests in early-stage, high-growth companies in the Southeast, typically those seeking $500,000 to $2 million in capital. Its over 400 members have invested $60 million in more than 80 companies across the region, many of which have been acquired, providing substantial returns for VentureSouth investors.
In addition to groups in North Carolina and Virginia, VentureSouth has a presence throughout South Carolina in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Aiken, Hilton Head, Spartanburg, Rock Hill, and Anderson.
