Veterans Outreach Ministry Launches in Joanna, SC
September 8, 2024Anthony and Marybeth Johnson, members of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, are taking a bold step in their faith journey by launching a new ministry aimed at supporting veterans. After serving in the Air Force for 19 years and multiple deployments, Anthony Johnson felt called to reach out to veterans in need of spiritual healing and support.
Anthony’s deep commitment to his fellow servicemen and women inspired the creation of Amazing Grace Veterans Outreach, a ministry dedicated to helping veterans find the peace that only a relationship with God can provide. With a focus on healing, suicide prevention, and reducing substance abuse within the veteran community, the outreach aims to make a lasting impact on veterans and their families.
The ministry’s mission statement is clear: “To help the healing process of veterans and their families, to reduce the number of veteran suicides, and to reduce substance abuse within the veteran community by building a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
The first meeting of the outreach ministry will take place at Amazing Grace Baptist Church at 440 North Main St, Joanna, SC, on September 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to all veterans, those actively serving, and their immediate families. Dinner will be provided following the meeting, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP by emailing [email protected] to assist with food planning.
For Anthony, this new chapter of his life is an opportunity to give back to the veteran community by guiding them toward faith and spiritual healing. Through this outreach, he hopes to foster strong relationships and provide veterans with a supportive environment where they can experience the love and peace that faith offers.
Veterans and their families are encouraged to join the Johnsons in this mission to help heal the wounds of service and build a strong community grounded in faith.
