Victoria Eslinger Honored with SCWLA's 2012 Jean Galloway Bissell Award

COLUMBIA, SC – October 12, 2012 – Nexsen Pruet announces that employment attorney, Vickie Eslinger, has been selected as the South Carolina Women Lawyer’s Association 2012 Bissell Award winner.
The award is bestowed in honor of Ms. Jean Galloway Bissell (1936-1990), a trailblazer who paved the way for South Carolina women lawyers in multiple fields. In 1984, she became the first female South Carolina lawyer in a federal judgeship when she was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The award criteria includes distinguished and noteworthy service to the public and the legal profession; achievement of professional excellence; and participation in activities that have paved the way to success for women lawyers on the national, state or local level.
Ms. Eslinger was honored by SCWLA at a reception on Thursday, October 4 at the Hippodrome in Charleston, SC.
Vickie Eslinger practices in the area of general and business litigation, labor and employment as well as in the firm’s international practice. She has extensive experience with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, wage and hour, payment of wages, and employment contract claims, as well as claims based on non-competition and non-disclosure agreements. She was named the 2009 Advocate of the Year by the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center. In 2004, the University of South Carolina School of Law honored Ms. Eslinger with the Compleat Lawyer Platinum Award.
