Victory Junction Joins Social Media Smackdown to Raise Money

RANDLEMAN, NC – March 19, 2009 – Victory Junction will join PayPal, in partnership with Mashable, the world’s largest blog for social networking news, for the first Social Media Smackdown for charity. From March 16 to March 26, the contest will challenge several celebrities and bloggers to raise money for a favorite charity through the PayPal Fundraising Widget.

Kyle Petty, NASCAR driver and co-founder of Victory Junction, has formed a team to raise money for Victory Junction. Victory Junction is a year-round medical facility, co-founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses with absolutely no cost passed on to the families. The camp operates solely through the support of generous donors to provide life-changing experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering.

“Victory Junction is excited to participate in this charity challenge which will raise awareness and funds for children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses,” said NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. “In these economic times, raising money is more important than ever, and we appreciate the fundraising opportunity PayPal has given us to continue to deliver life-changing camping experiences.”

Supporters may donate online at www.charitysmackdown.com , or copy the PayPal Fundraising Widget to a MySpace page or personal blog, and challenge friends and family to support the cause. The winning team’s charity will receive an additional donation from PayPal.
