GREENVILLE, SC – March 31, 2010 – On March 2, 2010, Furman University hosted a panel discussion titled “Greening our World: Sustainable Colleges, Corporations and Communities.”The discussion, moderated by former New York Times environmental reporter Andrew Revkin and featuring former Environmental Protection Agency administrator Christine Todd Whitman as one of five panelists, is available for viewing online at http://vimeo.com/10214118.

The panel discussion was part of daylong celebration on campus of sustainability, which included a lecture by Whitman and the dedication of the David E. Shi Center for Sustainability. Named for Furman’s 10th president, who will retire at the end of the academic year, the Shi Center focuses on promoting sustainability through outreach programming, curricular development and original research.
