Virtual groundbreaking ceremony for new affordable housing

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, City Councilmember Robert Mitchell, Charleston Redevelopment Corporation Chairman Eli Poliakoff and Reverend William M. Wrighten, Pastor of Washington United Methodist Church, held a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for a new affordably-priced single family home for individuals earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 2321 Birdie Garrett Street

The home, which will offer 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, was designed by Julia Martin and will be constructed by Bordon Construction.

Funding for the home is being provided by Charleston Redevelopment Corporation in partnership with the city of Charleston.
