WACH FOX hires new Sport Director, Mitch Brown

WACH FOX announced the hiring of new Sports Director Mitch Brown. He joined the WACH FOX team in July.

Mitch comes to the Midlands from Norfolk, Va. A graduate of Old Dominion University, he helped relaunch the WTKR Sports Department alongside Adam Winkler. In the span of three years, Mitch was recognized for three Outstanding Sports Coverage awards from the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.

During his time in Norfolk, he regularly covered the Washington Redskins, interviewed local legends such as Allen Iverson & Michael Vick, and had the opportunity to cover a NFL Draft, a MLB All-Star game, and UVA hoops’ run to a national championship. From an outsider to family, Mitch was embraced as a part of the sports community in the 757.

Prior to landing his first on-air job, Mitch was a morning photographer for WTKR. Before then, he got his start in the business as a News Editor for WAVY-TV.

Mitch thoroughly enjoys food, working out at the gym, sports, and deep discussions about drama and action series’ on television.

He is excited to lead the WACH FOX Sport Zone team and make the Midlands his home.

Mitch Brown joins Mike Uva, Matt Dowell, and Mackenzie Miller. WACH has more sports coverage than anyone else in the Midlands and is the only local station to produce 6 sports shows a week. Catch “Sports Zone” Sunday through Friday at 11pm.
