January 22, 2009

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – January 22, 2009 –  After two years as general manager, Todd Wagstaff is now president of Comfort Services, Inc.

Wagstaff also has taken an equity ownership position in the residential and light commercial heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) firm, which employs 20 people based at its headquarters in West Columbia.

Comfort Services is a separate, spin-off company from Total Comfort Service Center, Inc., also at that location, which was founded in 1976 by Steve Frame and later transitioned to ownership under Jim Reynolds.

Wagstaff, a Texas native, came to Columbia in 1997 and joined Total Comfort three years ago in a commercial sales position. A year later he became general manager of Comfort Services, Inc.

Since joining the company, Wagstaff has been very active in civic and industry affairs. He has completed the Leadership Columbia program at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and now serves on the Chamber board. He also recently chaired the Chamber’s annual Total Resources Campaign, which raised more than $1 million for the first time.

Wagstaff holds a Certified Green Professional Designation from the Home Builders Association of Columbia (one of the only HVAC professionals in the Midlands to do so), and is a member of the organization’s Remodelors Council and Home Builders Green Building Council.

He also serves as the Midlands Chapter Representative for the South Carolina Association of Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors. Comfort Services, meanwhile, is the Midlands member of the Comfort Institute, which qualifies the company to perform evaluations of indoor air quality and the thermal envelope surrounding a home.

“We do a more detailed analysis of a home versus a standard service provider who just sells boxes,” said Wagstaff, whose company is a Lennox Premier dealer and can service all major brands.

Wagstaff, 43, is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and a member of Shandon United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Deborah, live in Forest Acres with their children, Lauren, 9, and Clark, 3.

Comfort Services, Inc. is located at 348 Orchard Drive in West Columbia and is on the Web at www.comfortservices.ac. The phone number is (803) 772-4490.
