Walk, Worship & Prayer Event Unites Community in Support of Upcoming School Year
August 1, 2023On a warm Sunday evening, members of the Clinton community came together in a display of unity and faith as the “Walk, Worship & Prayer” event took place.
Organized by Reverend Kenny Moore of Davidson Street Baptist Church, this inspiring gathering aimed to bring people from various Christian congregations together to seek blessings and guidance for the upcoming school year. Also lending their spiritual leadership were Reverend Chad Reynolds of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Reverend Leshown Goodwin of Hebron Baptist.
The event commenced with a group of eager participants setting out from the Bailey Municipal building, embarking on a symbolic walk towards the Depot in downtown Clinton.
As the walkers reached the Depot, they were met by a group of individuals who had already gathered for the powerful time of worship and prayer. The air was filled with the soul-stirring melodies of praise music led by Randy Pitts and others from White Plains Baptist.
The primary objective of the “Walk, Worship & Prayer” event was to support the schools, students, and educators of the area.
Approximately 100 people, from all walks of life, stood together at the Depot, their hearts united in prayer for the upcoming academic session. The crowd prayed for the well-being and success of the students, wisdom and strength for the teachers and administrators, and blessings for the entire educational community.
The event exemplified the strength of the community and its commitment to the welfare of its schools. It showcased how people can come together, regardless of their differences, to support a shared cause that benefits the youth and shapes the future of the community.
Two local businesses, Steamers and Scoops on West Main, provided water, tea, lemonade and ice pops for the kids.
“Walk, Worship & Prayer” concluded with an overwhelming feeling of hope. The unity demonstrated during the event served as a beacon of light for the community, illuminating the path of cooperation and compassion. It provided a positive and uplifting beginning to the new school year, fostering an environment of support and encouragement for students and educators alike.
