Wando returns to the top of the state podium in boys’ track and field

Wando High School battled with Ridge View at the South Carolina High School League AAAAA Division 1 boys’ state track and field meet in Columbia on May 14, 2026, and came out on top to win the program’s first team title since 2018.
The Warriors edged the Blazers, 84-78, in the team standings.
In addition to the team state championship, junior Dylan Carey won gold in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.44 seconds.
The Warriors also recorded seven podium finishes (top-3) in javelin, shot put, triple jump,
long jump, 4×800 meter relay, 4×400 meter relay, and the 800 meter run.
This is Wando’s fourth team state title in program history.
