WaterFurnace Geothermal Discovery Days kicks off inaugural event to educate the Upstate on geothermal heating technology

October 21, 2021

Partnership with Blue Ridge Electric Co-op and EDS Lighting & Underground Utilities helps homes and businesses achieve energy efficiency, save money

WaterFurnace, the leading manufacturer of geothermal heat pumps in the country, has partnered with Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative and EDS Lighting & Underground Utilities to bring an educational event on geothermal technology to the Upstate. WaterFurnace Geothermal Discovery Days will take place on October 27 and 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 209 Sandalwood Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

South Carolina homeowners, and businesses, especially Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative customers, will have the opportunity to learn how they can save 67% on a new WaterFurnace geothermal heat pump and take advantage of the most technologically advanced, cost-effective and energy-efficient way to provide comfort to their home. Apart from cost savings and efficiency, geothermal systems have significant environmental benefits. A single geothermal unit is the environmental equivalent of planting 750 trees.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • See a geothermal dig site first-hand
  • Speak directly with geothermal installation experts
  • See four different types of geothermal loops
  • Experience the unmatched comfort of a geothermal system

Using renewable solar energy stored in the ground, geothermal heat pumps are placed in the ground in either a horizontal, vertical, open or lake/pond loops, depending on the property. Since the ground temperatures remain steady throughout the year, geothermal heating and cooling is more efficient and cost-effective than traditional HVAC systems which use the air outside to regulate air temperatures inside. Homes with geothermal systems can cut heating and cooling costs, which can be as much as 50% of energy bills, by up to 70%.

WaterFurnace Geothermal Discovery Days is open to the public.
