Retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Aubrey Hand awarded with a payment-free vehicle at local dealership

As part of the ongoing commitment to support the Wells Fargo Championship Military Reception, Wells Fargo collaborated with Felix Sabates Lincoln and Military Warriors Support Foundation to sponsor the donation of a payment-free vehicle to retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Aubrey Hand on Tuesday, April 28, at the Felix Sabates Lincoln dealership.

Wells Fargo and Felix Sabates Lincoln sponsored the donation of a new 2020 Ford Edge for Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, which awards payment-free vehicles and provides one-year of family and financial mentorship to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families to help smooth the transition from the military to civilian life.

“We are so excited that, despite COVID-19, we continue to find ways to come together and award one of our nation’s heroes, who selflessly served to protect our freedom, with a new payment-free vehicle. Thanks to the amazing collaboration with Wells Fargo and Felix Sabates Lincoln, we are able to honor and serve heroes, like retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Aubrey Hand, and continue to grow and expand our Transportation4Heroes program,” shared Ken Eakes, Executive Director, Military Warriors Support Foundation. “We are extremely grateful that our work together continues to help more of our nation’s combat-wounded heroes and Gold Star families and make a difference for generations to come.”

Retired U.S. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Aubrey Hand joined the military in 2010 with hopes of making a greater impact in the world. He was assigned to the 440 Security Force Squadron at Pope Army Airfield, and soon after volunteered for a combat deployment to Afghanistan. While stationed at Bagram Airfield he received the Purple Heart for being wounded while supporting combat operations. Sr. Airman Hand was awarded the Air Force Combat Action Medal for his bravery and sacrifice under fire and many awards and commendations during his military career. Today, he lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina with his family and retired military service dog, and he is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree.

Since 2012, Wells Fargo has donated more than 400 homes, valued at over $60 million, to support veterans in all 50 states, and provided more than 30 vehicles and financial mentoring, valued at over $1 million for combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families in collaboration with local dealerships.
