Wells Fargo donates $1.8 million YTD to nonprofit organizations in South Carolina Company has invested more than $32 million in state since 2005

COLUMBIA, SC – Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) announced that it has invested $1,834,150 in 277 nonprofit organizations and schools across South Carolina through the first six months of 2015. Overall, Wells Fargo has provided nearly $12.4 million in grants to 1,158 community organizations across South Carolina and North Carolina YTD in 2015.

“Giving back in our local communities where we do business is a core value at Wells Fargo,” noted Kathy Heffley, Wells Fargo regional president for South Carolina. “It is one of the most important things we can do as a company. We are committed to continuing to use our financial resources and expertise to work with nonprofits and other stakeholders to create long-term economic prosperity and quality of life for everyone in our communities.”

In 2014, Wells Fargo invested $281.2 million in nonprofit organizations and schools across the country. The company made 617 grants totaling $3.39 million to local nonprofit organizations and schools in South Carolina last year. Over the last five years, Wells Fargo has donated more than $18.5 million to nonprofit organizations in South Carolina, and since 2005, the company has invested more than $32 million in nonprofit organizations across the state. In addition, Wells Fargo team members logged more than 37,200 volunteer hours in 2014 with more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations and schools across the state.

Grants given in South Carolina by Wells Fargo in 2015 include: 

  • $75,000 to the United Way of the Midlands to support local early childhood literacy efforts.
  • $50,000 to Spoleto Festival USA in support of the Shaping our Future Endowment Campaign.
  • $50,000 to Trident United Way to support workforce development programs and financial stability.
  • $45,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County to support the total cost of construction for the organization’s 329th
  • $44,000 to the United Way of Greenville County in support of the OnTrack Greenville Middle Grades Success Initiative.
