WellSpent announces facilitators and roundtable sessions for upcoming forum

WellSpent — the first forum to bring together business and healthcare leaders to discuss and develop statewide initiatives will be taking place later this month.
The forum is set to have three roundtable sessions with two rotations, giving participants an opportunity to participate in two different sessions. However, all attendees will be able to provide their feedback and ask questions on all the topics when report outs are done during the general forum assembly. The forum’s final remarks will reinforce key thoughts from all three roundtables and follow-on efforts or steps post the event.
Roundtable topics include:
RT-1: Public-Private Relationships on Health in Support of Economic Development
• Driving collaborations around health of South Carolinians
• Facilitator is Michael Hildebrand Director of the Upstate Mobility Alliance
RT-2: Addressing Workforce Gaps in the S.C. Health System and Lack of Available Healthy Employees
• Adequacy, expertise, and management of workforce development
• Facilitator is Sabrina Smith, Partner Coordinator for LiveWell Greenville
RT-3: Statewide Alignment Around Measurement for Linking Business and Health
• Support programs, key metrics to measure success
• Facilitator is Blake Allison, the CEO of Southeastern Health Partners
Perspectives, points of interest and next step ideas will be collected at each session. The program will wrap with facilitators providing a summary of the three sessions that will lead into achieving a strategic summary, an employer success story along with action steps going forward as a charge for the group post-forum.
Billy Sims, the Senior Vice President of Policy Administration for Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, will be one of the welcome speakers along with Dr. Randy Vogenberg, Board Chair of EPIC, and Rob Hanley, South Carolina District Governor of Rotary.
WellSpent will be a half-day conference on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Poinsett Club in Greenville. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be opportunities to network and participate in roundtable sessions.
WellSpent’s goal is to educate, influence and persuade key stakeholders on the importance of healthcare for new or existing economic development efforts in order to improve and increase opportunities for business and the community of South Carolina as a whole.
