Wilkes Law Firm attorney elected vice president of the SC Defense Trial Attorneys Association Young Lawyers Division

The Wilkes Law Firm, P.A. is pleased to announce that Derek Newberry has been elected to serve as the vice president of the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association (SCDTAA).

SCDTAA is an organization that promotes justice, professionalism and integrity in the civil justice system by bringing together attorneys dedicated to the defense of civil actions. In addition to serving as vice president of the SCDTAA’s Young Lawyers Division, Newberry also serves on the Substantive Law Committee.

Newberry is a litigation attorney working in the firm’s Charleston office. His areas of practice include professional liability defense, construction litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury defense and complex product defect litigation.

“The firm has a long history of involvement and support of the SCDTAA,” said managing shareholder, Mike Wilkes. “As a past president of SCDTAA, I encourage participation and I’m confident that Derek will make great contributions to the Young Lawyers Division.”
