Wingard’s Market named a top 100 garden center

December 13, 2016

Wingard’s Market joined the ranks of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden centers when it was named one of the Top 100 independent garden centers in the United States and Canada by Garden Center magazine.

Wingard’s Market ranked 95 on the 2016 Garden Center Top 100 Independent Garden Centers list, which was published in September and sponsored by AmericanHort and Bloem. They also were the featured cover story in the June 2016 edition of Garden Center magazine.

“Our Top 100 list includes some of the best and brightest leaders in the garden center industry,” said Garden Center Editor Michelle Simakis. “In addition, we profiled 20 of these companies from across our list and across the country to find out what makes them successful.”

“Our team is greatly honored to receive a reward that is so highly regarded, and our family is thankful for our employees who have helped us become one of the nation’s top independent garden centers.” says Wally Steinhauser Co-owner of Wingard’s Market.

Known as one of the prettiest spots in Lexington, SC, Wingard’s Market is nestled beneath century-old pecan trees in a park-like setting. The quiet ambiance of a garden center steeped in history shines through at every turn. Visitors are inspired by the lush colors of nature, and find peaceful spots to enjoy birds, blossoms, and butterflies. Playing host to a beautifully designed Gift Shoppe, Produce Market and their newest addition, Wing’s & Things, they continue to grow and add products and services to promote a garden lifestyle.

“It is incredibly humbling to compare Wingard’s Market today to what my father started in 1968 by selling azaleas along the roadside. This award comes on the brink of a year-long celebration of 50-years in business and is a fitting way to launch our 50th Anniversary,” says Delores Wingard Steinhauser.
