Wingard’s Market expands Gift Shoppe and announces dates for holiday open house

October 26, 2021

Just in time for the Holidays, Wingard’s Market, one of the state’s most recognizable destination plant and flower markets, is expanding its Gift Shoppe to allow for additional unique merchandise from local and regional retailers for customers.

The Gift Shoppe, which dates back 121 years, is full of authentic Southern charm located beneath sprawling decades-old pecan trees. Over the last year, it received a well-deserved facelift with an additional 600 square feet of retail space, an easily accessible handicap ramp and an entirely new coat of paint and windows!

“The gift shoppe is the original Wingard’s homestead house, and it will continue to be the focal point of the business,” said Wingard’s Co-owner Wally Steinhauser. “As our business continues to grow, so do our client’s needs, and we want to be able to serve them the best that we can by offering more products and a little more comfort while they shop. The house is a symbol of our heritage, and now, it is also a sign of our future.”

Wingard’s is hosting a Holiday Reopening Celebration Nov. 5-6, which will feature some of the Lake Murray items and gifts plus more new things, including gifts for men and kids, as well as other outdoor-friendly items. Come enjoy the warm, relaxed, and friendly charm of the six rooms filled with beautifully displayed with unique gifts for the garden and nature-lover in all of us.

Customers can also take a look at the Wingard’s Holiday Gift Guide, which features local and statewide products like The General’s Hot Sauce from Columbia, Toadfish from Charleston and the 2021 Lake Murray Ornament, which was designed and manufactured by Wingard’s. More than ever, this year, Wingard’s encourages customers to do their Holiday shopping at places that support local farmers and businesses.

The Wingard’s Market Holiday Reopening Celebration will take place from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Friday, November 5 and from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 6.

Beginning November 21 – December 19, Wingard’s will be open Sundays from 1:30 – 5:00 PM. It will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1 and 2.
