Lexington County School District One congratulates students with White Knoll High School’s National Honor Society chapter for being honored by The Salvation Army of the Midlands. The chapter raised more than $1,000 during The Salvation Army’s 2015 High School Battle of the Bells competition, conducted in December 2015 as part of the organization’s annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Andrew McIntyre, director of public relations and volunteer services for The Salvation Army of the Midlands, presented a plaque to Sheila Foreman, president of the WKHS chapter of the National Honor Society, in appreciation of the donation that WKHS National Honor Society students made to The Salvation Army. During the competition, WKHS students rang bells at various kettle stations and encouraged people to donate to The Salvation Army, which provides meals for persons who are homeless and social services for other persons who need assistance.
