World Trade Center Charleston hosts international finance seminar

Part of effort to increase region’s export activity

CHARLESTON, SC – World Trade Center Charleston (WTCC), a division of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, is hosting an International Finance Seminar in an effort to educate local businesses on how to conduct global sales. The seminar will be held on March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, 4500 Leeds Ave, Ste. 100, North Charleston.

Experts will explain to attendees how to finance exports, insure international receivables, secure letters of credit and reduce the cost of exchange rates. Additionally, the seminar will cover the Export-Import Bank, a resource that assists in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to international markets and supports 17,000 jobs through 72 companies within South Carolina.

Experts include Andrew Collins, managing partner for Bannockburn Global Forex, LLC; Marris Ellison, principal for Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice; Dan Holt, international finance specialist for the U.S. Export Assistance Center; and Sharyn Koenig, managing director of the eastern region for EXIM Bank.

The seminar, which is part of WTCC’s efforts to expand export activity in the Charleston metro, is open to both Chamber members and non-members. Cost for members is $20 pre-registration and $25 day-of registration. Non-member pricing is $40 pre-registration and $45 day-of.
