WRS Breaks Ground on 450,000sf Center in North Carolina

MORGANTON, NC – January 18, 2012 – Mt. Pleasant, SC based WRS, Inc. has broken ground on a 450,000 sf WalMart anchored power center at the former site of the Henredon manufacturing facility in Morganton, NC. Additional anchor tenants include TJ Maxx, Ross, Petsmart and others. Phase I of the development will be completed in the summer of 2013. In addition to the 177,000 SF Walmart, and the co-anchors, the development will include approximately 100,000 SF of shop space and 7 outparcels.
“We are incredibly pleased with the early response from the market on this project”, said Chris Fraser, CCIM, Executive Vice President of WRS, Inc. “The strength of the Morganton retail market and the quality of the development are evidenced by the fact that more than 18 months before completion, Phase I of the project is 75% pre-leased and three of the outparcels are contractually committed.” WRS, Inc. will be managing development and leasing /sales activities for the project on behalf of the owner, Morganton Retail Investment, LLC.
