YLD hosts web chats for Community Law Week

The SC Bar Young Lawyer’s Division (YLD), in conjunction with the SC Bar Ask-A-Lawyer program, will host four statewide web chats during its annual Community Law Week on Monday, May 1, from 5-7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, May 2, from 4-6 p.m.; Wednesday, May 3, from 5-6:30 p.m.; and Thursday, May 4, from 5-7:30 p.m.

The public is encouraged to visit www.scbar.org/aal during the times listed above to engage in a free one-on-one chat with a South Carolina attorney. Attorney volunteers include: Ryan Andrews, Buck Brandt, Bryant Caldwell, Michelle Carimi, Patrick Cleary, Daniel Craig, Liam Duffy, Stephen Epps, Zach Farr, Ryan Gaylord, Evan Guthrie, John Holland, Julie Jones, Howard Kinard, Adam Kraemer, Perry MacLennan, Andrew McCumber, Katherine Myers, Ryan Neville, Clarke Newton, Elizabeth Nicholson, Samantha Nicholson, Trey Nicolette, Shannon Polvi, Whit Slagsvol, Stephen Ryan, Evan Smith, Victoria N. Smith, Laura Stemkowski, Jim Sproat, Johnny Stewart, Justine Tate, Ashleigh Wilson, Patrick Wooten and Lyndey Zwing.

The YLD’s Community Law Week takes place during the first week of May each year. During this time, community service projects are planned in each judicial circuit throughout the state. The projects are designed to promote public service among the legal profession and provide the public with information about its legal rights. Other Community Law Week events include a Make-a-Wish volunteer opportunity, Cocky’s Reading Express events, iCivics presentations, Lawyers4Vets legal clinic, a wills clinic and a canned food and book drive.
