YMCA of Greenville awarded $30,000 in grants from The Allstate Foundation for youth development programs

More than 28,000 Greenville County children and teens will be impacted by grant support of youth development programming

YMCA of Greenville, a cause-driven, nonprofit organization focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, received a $30,000 grant from The Allstate Foundation to help serve more than 28,000 children and teens through its youth development programs.

Centered around providing mentoring relationships and quality learning environments that facilitate positive outcomes, the Y’s youth development programs supported by the funding are:

• Afterschool enrichment
• Summer day camp
• Education/leadership development
• Resident camp at YMCA Camp Greenville
• Swim/sports/play programs
• SC Youth in Government for teens
• Teen Achievers, a high school graduation and mentoring program for underserved teens

Thanks to Greenville Allstate agency owner and long-time YMCA of Greenville volunteer board member Brad Hughes, the Y received funds from The Allstate Foundation, whose programs and grants accelerate positive change by empowering and educating the most vulnerable, inspiring today’s visionaries and promoting community leadership.

“The YMCA was my second home for years and shaped me into the person I am today,” said Allstate Agency Owner Brad Hughes. “With the support of The Allstate Foundation’s grant, I’m proud to watch a new generation of kids grow into healthy, empowered adults through mentorship and programs.”

The Y’s partnership with The Allstate Foundation is a prime example of that.”
