YMCA of Greenville Hires John Clark

March 8, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – The YMCA of Greenville hired John Clark as Vice President of Endowment. Clark comes to Greenville from Ohio, where he practiced law for 17 years after graduating from the Emory University of Law. He was a member of a regional law firm specializing in estate planning, trust, and probate law.

The YMCA has been an integral part of Clark’s life and he recently served as board chair of the David YMCA (Ohio), was a member of the Endowment Committee of the YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio) and served as past chairperson for the Strong Kids Annual campaign. He brings a unique combination of skills and resources to this position. “I am happy to welcome John to the Greenville Y family. He brings extensive knowledge that will help grow our Endowment which will allow us to continue what we do best – strengthen and serve the Greenville community.” said Scot Baddley, President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Greenville.

The YMCA of Greenville Foundation, Inc. secures gifts as part of the Endowment Fund that are held separate and apart from the operating funds of the YMCA. Individuals that give to the Endowment Fund know that only the income generated from their charitable contributions is used to support the YMCA programs. This preservation of the amount gifted allows for those funds to grow as part of the invested Endowment Fund to provide a benefit each and every year to the YMCA in order to respond to Greenville’s growing needs.

Since 1876, in timely and innovative ways, the YMCA of Greenville has served our community needs. Gifts to the YMCA of Greenville Foundation will help our community for many generations to come.
