YMCA of Greenville’s Annual Campaign raises more than $1.33 Million to ensure accessibility for all

May 3, 2023

YMCA of Greenville announced today that it has raised more than $1.33 million so far for its 2023 Annual Campaign. All the funds raised will go towards providing financial assistance so that anyone who wants to participate in the Y’s programs or services is able to, regardless of their ability to pay.

The $1.33 million will provide children, adults, and families scholarships for wellness memberships, youth sports programs, swim lessons, the SC Youth in Government program, afterschool care and summer day camps, as well as funding the Y’s food program for those experiencing food insecurity across Greenville County.

Over the past 14 years, the YMCA of Greenville has raised more than $13 million for the annual campaign, putting those funds back into helping the community thrive.

“We are thrilled that we have so many generous donors that have helped us reach this number to date,” said Melanie Sudduth, YMCA of Greenville’s Annual Campaign chair. “The true success of raising more than $1.33 million is that it will have a significant impact on the health of our community and will positively change the lives of so many of our neighbors.”

“This year’s annual campaign theme is ‘This is Y,” said Diana Watson, senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer, YMCA of Greenville. “Helping children and adults reach their potential is at the heart of what we do, and every year our volunteers and staff embody this with their dedication to this campaign. I am so grateful for their work, the financial support of each of our donors, and for the opportunity we have as an association to provide life-changing programs to the community.”
