Zeus Vice President, Robert Ballard, Appointed to SC Biotechnology Incubation Program Board of Governors

ORANGEBURG, SC – October 9, 2008 – Robert Ballard, Vice President, Research and Strategic Business Development at Zeus, Inc. has been appointed to serve on the South Carolina Biotechnology Incubation Program Board of Governors. Ballard was appointed to serve on the board by South Carolina Secretary of Commerce, Joe E. Taylor, Jr.

The mission of the South Carolina Biotechnology Incubation Program is to support and promote growth and development of life sciences technology in the state. This is primarily accomplished through the program’s emphasis on the incubation of emerging biotechnology and human genetics companies.

Ballard joined Zeus in 1998 to provide leadership for the development of the polymer research center. His strategic approach to building this valuable resource has significantly contributed to the advancement of Zeus’ business and material science. Ballard continues to explore new research in untapped areas of polymer science, while formulating new business development strategies.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Ballard said, “I am very honored to be appointed to the South Carolina Biotechnology Incubation Program Board of Governors and I look forward to using my education, experience, and skills to assist in the furtherance of the mission and goals of such an innovative and important program.”
