On September 29, Laurens County School Districts 55 & 56 received face masks and hand sanitizer donations from ZF Transmissions Gray Court and Norbord. ZF Transmissions donated 5,000 child and adult size face masks, and Norbord donated 300 bottles of hand sanitizer for our local schools to be able to keep students and teachers safe while learning.
ZF originally made masks for their employees and then realized that they could benefit the local school districts, the county, and the state as a whole.
Norbord donated the hand sanitizer through their Safety First program.
Upon presenting their PPE donations at each school district office, the industries thanked the Laurens County Development Corporation, the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, and DHEC for their cooperation and collaboration during the ongoing COVID pandemic.
Both Laurens County School Districts 55 & 56 are grateful to these positive contributors to our community.
