Clemson University’s Nieri Family Department of Construction Science and Management in conjunction with the department’s Corporate Partner Companies will present its 2020 Annual Symposium virtually on October 15, 2020. Themed “Disruptors in the Construction Industry,” the “Zoom” event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

What’s on the Agenda?
Sessions include Embracing Disruption, presented by Brian Gallagher, Vice President, Corporate Development for Graycor, Inc.; Emerging Technology in Safety Training presented by David DaVita, President, Carolina Safety Consultants; Overcoming Construction Challenges Building Clemson’s First Chapel, presented by Paul Mashburn, CEO of Mashburn Construction; The Coronavirus Economy: What to Expect in the Year Ahead, presented by Bruce Yandle, Co-founder, Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism; and Modular Construction as a Disruptor to the Status Quo, presented by Corey Lemming, Director, Holder Construction, and Chris Paine, General Superintendent, Holder Construction.

Bradley Robinson, Vice President with SteelFab, Inc. and the Corporate Partners Liaison will give opening remarks, and Mike Jackson, Department Chair and Professor with Clemson’s Nieri Family Department of Construction Science and Management will close the day’s program.

“Although we have a shorter program this year, we took great care to pick topics that are relevant to the current state of the construction industry. At the end of each session, attendees will have a chance to interact with the best in the business, while hearing their perspectives on facing today’s industry challenges and those in the foreseeable future,” said Dr. Jackson. “We hope to see everyone again in person next year.”

This Fifth Annual Symposium is co-sponsored by 84 Lumber and Eldeco. Once again, GroundBreak Carolinas is the media partner.
